abgeFRACKt: Tosende Pfeifen

The organ is an instrument that, for many, creates a reverent silence in churches rather than enjoyable music. But in this concert, it shows how versatile and modern the organ can be! Poulenc was a French composer who liked to play with musical contrasts: sacred meets secular, serious meets playful. His concert begins almost like a meditation – dark and mysterious – and suddenly the music bursts into lively, almost dance-like rhythms. The other piece, just recently composed for the organ at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London, also captivates the listeners. It is a journey through moods and sounds that showcases the organ at its most exciting. Lean back and be surprised – maybe you will discover your new favorite instrument today! At our abgeFRACKt concerts, some things are different: the orchestra does not wear tails on stage. Also, no one has to fear clapping at the wrong time. If you want to learn more about the music, download the free Wolfgang app on your smartphone and receive live explanations about the work during the concert. Afterwards, we invite you to stay and enjoy the abgeFRACKt cocktail (also non-alcoholic), a glass of wine or beer at the "Tutti" café, relax, chat, or look out onto the city from the balcony.
