On Christmas morning, heaven and earth quietly unite, and so the magic dream tree awakens in the great heavenly Christmas cloud. Moosmutzel, the sweet forest ghost girl, immediately starts singing a dream leaf with a dream magic star song for the children. How delicious it smells here!
Suddenly, a mouse scurries up the ladder to heaven and is very hungry. It's Josefine, the Christmas mouse. Christa Engel, the Heavenly Director's strict angel of order, is approaching; strangers are not allowed in heaven. Moosmutzel quickly hides Josefine in the heavenly pantry.
The magical dream tree is looking forward to the fairy of light who will light the candles here in the evening, a warm light for the world, a favour to all, even for poor mice. Christa Engel conducts the festive preparations, the tinsel has to be hung up, the star cleaner Funkelfix is already busily cleaning the stars, the Heavenly Director is composing and Christa Engel has to fetch red composing soda from the heavenly pantry for him again. An outcry! The pantry has been broken into! Eleven sultanas are missing and there's a hole in the cheese! A bolt must be put in front of the gates of heaven immediately! Moosmutzel and the TZB know who did it, as do the children, but will they betray Josefine?
