With London and Vienna, two musical centers of Europe are at the center of the concert of the supporting association orchestra of the Dresden Philharmonic. The sensitivity of the "London Bach" is contrasted with Peter Warlock's Renaissance dances in the musical language of the 20th century. However, at the center is The Lark Ascending, Ralph Vaughan Williams' very extraordinary violin concerto, inspired by George Meredith's lines about a rising lark. The musical journey that began in London ends in Vienna: Mozart's Clarinet Concerto combines deep melancholy with hopeful, jubilant vigor.
